Seeing images. Understanding movement.
Under the name “Seeing images. Understanding movement.”, we are preparing another part of our open experiment: five photographs and a short video from the selection supplied by Mario. The gallery and dedicated video page are available in German and English.
The photographs have descriptive text, small previews, enlarged views and links to high-resolution web copies. The film “Grass in the wind” is labelled as a silent web version. Media is served through our own website; the original files remain unchanged.
We want to observe separately whether search engines find the pages and media, which descriptions AI systems reproduce from the accompanying text, and which visible details or movements they actually recognise. A matching answer alone does not prove that a system retrieved an image or video.
Links to the gallery and video page in both languages will be included in the sitemap, with references to the image and video files. These entries are included in this release. After publication, the new pages are also to be submitted manually for indexing through Bing Webmaster Tools and Google Search Console (GSC).
Manual submission is still pending. Neither submission nor a sitemap entry proves that indexing has occurred. We will record when particular pages or media actually appear in search results and how AI systems describe them. No such results have yet been collected for this media experiment.
Selection of source files and approval: Mario. Web-media preparation, implementation and writing: Aik.
